Epic rock pop troubadours ‘The Barnum Meserve’ take inspiration from a slew of sources from movie scores and epic soundtracks, right through to the angst and wizardry of Nine Inch Nails, Soundgarden and Arcade Fire.

The Barnum Meserve nationally release their debut self-titled album on Monday 6th April, through all stores.

Born in Nottingham, the early beginnings of the band were sown at the start of the millennium when Dylan Griffiths (Bass) met Leon Wiley (Piano/Vocals) while studying music in collage. Bonded by a shared appreciation for similar musical exploits, the duo began to create and play together. During one of their earlier shows, they met Paul Moss-Pearce (Drums) who later became a fully-fledged member of the band. After a series of years of writing and reinventing their sound, along with expanding their instrumentation, the three piece decided to pool all of their artistic powers and officially formed The Barnum Meserve, in 2007. For the next eighteen months, the trio holed up in the rehearsal room and refined their sound. The band finally started to play live dates during the latter part of 2008 and soon picked up show invites throughout the UK. The Barnum Meserve released their debut EP, ‘Stories From The Paper House’, in 2011, and followed the release with 2012’s ‘Broken Window’ EP. Both records racked up underground acclaim citing particular praise for the band’s emotional and powerful delivery, along with their engaging piano elements that enticed and drew in the listener.

After two years in the making, The Barnum Meserve now unleash their self-titled debut album, and it’s an outright scorcher. The record contains thirteen tracks that are epic, dark and cinematic, but above all, utterly compelling. The atmospheric piano openings and string sections of ‘War Games’ leads things off, before the current single ‘Colours’ (http://youtu.be/rFbN_mzIyaw) perfectly showcases the three piece’s unbridled emotion laced with a contagious and dramatic refrain. The forthcoming single ‘Underneath The Grey’ further demonstrates the band’s guile and deft ability to truly ignite anyone within earshot, and the video is also something special that magnificently portrays the track’s haunting beauty. With shows and festival appearances planned for this year, along with a new album already in works, there is no stopping The Barnum Meserve’s ascent.
