Temples of Youth Short Info

Temples of Youth endeavour to bring something new to the local music scene. Often compared to the likes of Daughter, Beach House and London Grammar, expect an ambient female vocal, riding on waves of synth and intricate electric guitar. Paul Gumma and Jo Carson tackle some heavy themes, but they're buried in subtlety. Their first track Enso, was selected by Steve Lamacq for airplay on his BBC6 Radio Show after Jo bumped into him during Independent Venue Week. Their third track Dunes, was played by Huw Stephens on BBC Radio 1 and their latest track Churches premiered on Clash.

Temples of Youth began working on their live set in December 2015, with the desire to bring their soundscapes to the stage with a limited number of hands; Jo on percussion and Paul on guitar. The duo have found an effective way of performing live with the aid of samplers and effects. Their ever growing emotive body of work has attracted the attention of BBC Introducing, and the pair were invited in to record a live session in Brighton in March 2016. The band have had a busy 6 months on the live circuit and have played alongside Sundara Karma, Estrons, Fear of Men, Declan Mckenna & Inheaven.
