TANGOCRISIS is the new musical venture of singer / songwriter / producer Max Masri and his musical mate guitarrist Diego S.

Velazquez. As founding members of Tanghetto, the pioneer electrotango band from Buenos Aires, they achieved platinum success in their home country, Argentina, as well as they’ve toured over 25 countries around the world and obtained numerous national and international awards (including three Latin Grammy nominations) in a carreer now spanning 14 years.

TANGOCRISIS is a departure from Tanghetto’s sound and concept, being a contemporary rock band with the notable inclusion of the bandoneon (tango’s accordion-like emblematic instrument) as one of the components, as well as a tango flavour present in all the songs. With a vast range of influences that span over four decades of rock music, Tangocrisis brings a new idea: that of introducing new and old tango influences in a context of a rock band with a contemporary, international sound. Rock, electronica and tango make up a novel, original artistic end result.

One of TANGOCRISIS’ main characteristics is Max’s lyrics (in both English and Spanish), of remarkable sensibilty and flow in both languages.

A curious fact: TANGOCRISIS is probably the one and only band in the world to have had its "baptism by fire" in London's O2 Arena, one of the most prestigious stages in the world. As Tanghetto's opening act for the May 2013 European Tour, they were warmly received by 8000 londoners, and their rendition of David Bowie's "Heroes" was ovationed by the crowd.
