The bands’ humble beginnings came from Chris Stevens’ decision to make the switch to frontman after 10 years behind the drum kit. With merely a collection of rough ideas written on a budget, battered acoustic guitar, Chris called upon old friends and music lovers to form a band and turn these rough ideas into polished songs.

The band’s first single, ‘Face To Face’, was released on their very own DIY imprint, Realm Productions; and went on to be picked up by Sub TV, Propeller TV and Vidzone. The track could be heard across hundreds of retail outlets, including high street fashion giants ‘next’, courtesy of Imagesound.

Having built some hype and vast becoming a must-see live outfit, it was time to record the self-titled debut album. Engineered and produced by Geoff Swan at Ranch Production House, Southampton, the album was released on 15 May 2014 under Do It! Records with whom the band had signed an international licensing deal at the end of 2013 in anticipation of the release.

The first 2 singles from the album, ‘Make It Happen’ and ‘Limitless’, gained good traction and were supported by both BBC 6 Music and BBC Introducing networks, alongside international air play through Musik and Film. ‘Make It Happen’ also went on to be featured as Q’s ‘track of the day’ on the 9th of March 2014!

The summer of 2014 saw a packed festival schedule for Talk In Code as they entertained the masses at Oakwell Festival, Alresford Festival, and many more. Among other shows the band also supported established acts like Catfish & The Bottlemen, Amber Run and The Black Hats.

Now represented by Kelcob Artist Management, IAA touring and TRIBE Festivals, Talk In Code can look towards a bright future and the much anticipated release of album no.2.
