Formed in 2000 by musicians Manuel Gutierrez (piano), Xacobe Martinez (bass) and LAR Legido (drums), the jazz trio Sumrrá is considered as "the most innovative trio of Spanish scene" (Candido Querol).

It is a formation with one of the most solid and consistent trajectories of Spanish jazz scene, with a great international impact in tours and festivals in Bolivia, Bulgaria, South Africa like Festival San Juan Evangelista (Madrid), Johannesburg Joy of Jazz (Southafrica), ImaxinaSons Jazz Festival (Vigo), Jazz Cycle 1906 (Ourense), Festival de Jazz de la Paz (Bolivia), Jazz Festival in Santa Cruz (Bolivia), Jazz Festival Alcudia (Mallorca), Jazz Plus Festival (Sofia) ...

Since its beginnings, Sumrrá wowed critics and audiences with its unclassifiable jazz, melodic and very open, highlighting the originality of his compositions, the quality of its members and the freshness of their live concerts. Sumrrá doesn´t care about fashion, labels, or styles. This happy meeting born 13 years ago, which is a long time in jazz, and the trio continues to reinvent itself and feeding on the others projects of its components.

---------------------

"In the field of Spanish jazz virtuosos are not what is missing but people with ideas. And if we add ideas and virtuosity, we get Sumrrá group." N. Ibarrola. Cuadernos de Jazz 2006

"Sumrrá is a trio of deep convictions with a pasting sound full of fource and drama that lacks neither the right amount of technique and lyricism, and swing. Few in Spain can match in creative quality." Enrique Farello. Toma Jazz 2007

"One of the most important trios of the country" Tomajazz

"A new reference of Jazz". DistritoJazz.
