Recorded entirely in isolation during the COVID-19 crisis, the E.P. touches on the emotional states induced by the pandemic. “Airborne” is an analysis of the fear induced state of mind that gripped the nation at the beginning of the pandemic. “Falling Asleep with the TV On” touches on escapism into digital forms of entertainment and the longing to escape abroad. “Nightingale” details the emotionally complex journeys of health care workers throughout the crisis and examines their daily sacrifices.
Part dark pop and indie rock Sukh has evolved his signature cinematic sound, of haunting melodies and on-the-pulse lyrics to bring a more personal yet cinematic touch to his music. Produced by John ‘The Drum Tamer’ Simm,“Falling Asleep with the TV On” is due for release on 18th September 2020.
BIOGRAPHY
Sukh is a Wolverhampton born, Manchester based singer-songwriter and doctor. Sukh's first record "Kings" was met with critical acclaim when it was released in 2013. Gruelling studies and an intense life on the hospital wards sparked Sukh to write his second record “Galactic Love Machine” which was released in October 2018. On the live circuit Sukh has supported the likes of Basia Bulat, Nizlopi, Beth Rowley, Stu Larsen and once shared the stage with Flyte’s Will Taylor. He completed several UK tours in 2019. He has also performed at Kendal Calling several years running, and has garnered support from BBC Radio 2 and BBC Introducing.
