With a line up ranging from harp, through full string section, to deep sub bass, their sound has been described as “beautiful”, “impressive”, and “ambitious”, with comparisons drawn to Toronto wonder-kids BadBadNotGood and Miguel Atwood-Ferguson’s Suite For Ma Dukes.
Built on longstanding musical relationships and a love for collaboration, Stompy’s Playground’s catalogue of subversive reworks and infectious originals joins stunning orchestral arrangements with deep rhythm section grooves to create a live show that consistently tears up dancefloors, and a polished studio sound to boot. With past collaborators including Slugabed, Dauwd, Luke Abbot, Kidkanevil, and Daisuke Tanabe, their sound sits at the cutting edge of electronic music.
With support from BBC Radio 2’s Jamie Cullum, FACT Magazine, Stamp The Wax, and Sound & Music, a vinyl release on Berlin’s Project Mooncircle, and gigs at Bestival, Boomtown Fair, Shambala, London’s Southbank Centre, Union Chapel, and the ICA all firmly under their belts, 2017 is set to be a whirlwind year, with an album of collaborative originals set for recording and release.
