‘...someone who deserves to be on the biggest stages bringing smiles to the masses.’ -We Close Tonight Described as an artist with a thorough understanding of her art, Welsh-born and Devonshire-grown Sophie Sutton draws inspiration from various artists and genres, from the jazz-influenced Lianne La Havas to the folky elegance of Lucy Rose.

Vulfpeck’s funky and soulful Theo Katzman has also played a huge role in Sutton’s approach to songwriting and performing and, in April 2018, after a writing collaboration together, Sutton found herself on one of the larger stages in Berlin opening his sold-out show in Franzz Club.

Alongside intuitively creative melodies, Berlin-
based artist Sophie Sutton is a skilled vocalist
who accompanies herself with a sophisticated jazz-pop
guitar style. Her lyrics are hard-hitting yet
graceful, with personality and vulnerability felt
throughout. In Summer 2018, she collaborated with Danish audio company, Libratone, who invited 10 international artists into the renowned studios of Funkhaus in Berlin. Sutton’s song ‘So Much So Little’ was recorded in this live-session and released in January 2019.

Back home in the UK, Sutton has been described as ‘Devon's finest female singer-songwriter’ by James Santer at BBC Introducing and, since moving to the German capital in early 2017, has attracted significant attention from both locals and visitors alike.
