Weaving and infusing a rotating mix of hip-hop, jazz, reggae, latin, neo-soul and funk, before topping it with an icing of assorted and diverse vocalists, Sola Rosa have released six critically acclaimed long players to date. The most recent being 2014’s Magnetics, a soulful dreamscape of sound and new direction for Sola Rosa and the winner of ‘Best Soul & R&B’ award in the heralded iTunes ‘Best of 2014’. Internationally, the band have been championed by the likes of Huey Morgan, BBC Radio 6 (UK) and Jeremy Sole, KCRW (USA). Their lead single from ‘Get It Together - Del Ray’ was picked up by several compilations, including DJ Ease’s edition of Stereo Deluxe’s ‘Coming Home’ series, and Putumayo’s Latin Beats compilation. The album’s full release in Europe and the USA, along with a successful debut tour of both, received attention from radio stations such as KCRW (L.A.) and Funkhaus Europa (EU) across both continents, and was picked out as Marco Werman’s album of the year for 2011. Several of the album’s tracks were licensed for use on episodes of Criminal Minds, The Protector, Gossip Girl and Mob Wives. As Magnetics continues to receive critical acclaim locally, Sola Rosa now look across the seas towards an extensive tour of the UK and Europe to consolidate on their growing popularity in these territories.
