Playing music that can lazily be described as post-punk, Six Broken Sticks liberally pinch elements of punk, jazz, blues and funk to form their perversely deliberately diverse sound, defying easy categorisation.

At the centre of the group is Tom’s ‘distinctive’ baritone voice, although both Calum and Leo provide fierce, yet still inventive drum and bass parts.

Both Tom and Leo write lyrics characterised by their cynicism, irony and wordplay, on a strange array of topics ranging from hangovers to sex hotlines; from sociopaths to Boris Johnson (although, aren’t they one and the same?)

Known for having a ‘stage presence’, (whatever that means) Tom frequently heckles and harrasses the audience during gigs – dividing the audience as a consequence.

All in all, a Marmite band, but with plenty of tunes up the old sleeve.
