Shiqadi was formed in 2006 in Leipzig, by some members of the former band 10 Bucks. The history can be divided into two parts. The 1st part from 2006 till 2009 and the 2nd part from 2013 till the present time. The history of the Band was marked by many changes in the line-up.

2006 till 2009:
The first line-up of the 1st decade consists 6 guys and the the sound was characterized by Hardcore, Metalcore, Beatdown and Screamo influences. The name of the band is based on a creature from the computer game commander keen. The creature „Shikadi“ was a race of translucent energy beings from another galaxy. The spelling was changed into Shiqadi to prevent a confusion with the name of the Band „Enter Shikari“. The guys played their first gig in Nov. 2007 at the local club „4 Rooms“.
In the period of 2009 till 2013 Shiqadi did a lot of experiments and tried to get back on stage. It was hopeless because 3 Members left the band during this period. With such a high fluctuation, the Band was actually dead.

2nd part since 2013
After many years of absence from stage, the core of Shiqadi got completed with 2 further members in 2013 bringing new influences and freshness into the musical style. In only 4 months it was accomplished: Shiqadi was back. Still playing straightforward hardcore punk, their music is enriched with some fine breezes of Metal, Death and all the best from around the corner.
