In 2013, after 30 years career, Brazilian saxophone player and composer Sérgio Galvão went to New York where he recorded and released his first album, Phantom Fish.

The album tells a little bit of Galvão's path in music and was widely praised by critics and the audience being a semifinalist on the 2014 Grammy Award in two categories: Best Latin Jazz Album and Best Improvised Jazz Solo.

After a memorable 2014 touring in his home country Brazil and in the USA performing in legendary venues as the Blue Note and the Shape Shifter Lab in New York, Galvão hits Europe on Februrary 2015 for a 03 months tour with confirmed concerts in France, Portugal, Italy and Germany.

“A remarkably gifted saxophonist-composer and in-demand session player, Brazilian Sérgio Galvão is a talent worthy of wider recognition beyond his home base in Rio de Janeiro. (…) Nearly 30 years in the making, Phantom Fish heralds the arrival of a new saxophone colossus on the international jazz scene.” Bill Milkowski
