Several months later, two more members, Jirka (keyboards) and Honza (drums) joined the ranks of the band. Under this lineup, the band performed several shows, instrumental only given the vacant vocalist post, thus gaining first live experiences.
After a long search, the band was joined in 2006 by vocalist Vojta and bassist Tomáš Š. With lineup finally complete, the band played tens of shows in Czech Republic as well as abroad.
Afterwards it did not take long for Secret of Darkness to release their first EP …And The Dark Begins (2008), containing six tracks of melodic dark-doom metal. Consequently, the band had further shows on the agenda, e.g. alongside HOLLENTHON and FLESHGOD APOCALYPSE.
The turn of 2009 and 2010 was marked by personnel changes. Due to personal reasons as well as differences of opinion, Tomáš Š. (bass), Honza (drums) and Jirka (keyboards) gradually left the band, and were replaced by drummer Ondra and bassist Tomáš J.
In 2010, a prominent Czech metal label MetalGate Records approached Secret of Darkness with an album deal offer, which the band accepted and signed.
In June 2011 the band recorded in a professional studio ŠOPA its debut album, entitled (IN)HUMANITY, containing 10 tracks of energetic yet melodic blackened death metal, scheduled to be released by Fall 2011. Further live shows and festival appearances followed, with e.g. SODOM, ROTTING CHRIST, FREEDOM CALL, PARADISE LOST, ILL ŇINO, DEADLOCK, FIREWIND, PESTILENCE, etc. In October 2011, (IN)HUMANITY was unleashed in digipack format and the band started planning a tour to promote it.
Secret of Darkness devoted the bulk of 2012 to live shows not only in the Czech Republic, but also abroad. During the (In)Humanity Tour 2012, the band performed extensively in Norway and Germany, as well as appeared alongside such acclaimed bands as SEPULTURA or PRO-PAIN. After this ride, guitarist Karel and bassist Tomáš J. decided to leave the band. Almost immediately afterwards however, Johnny comes in, taking over guitar, and Deemon (MATER MONSTIFERA, ELEAMENT) joins as live session bassist.
The onset of 2013 finds SoD hard at work preparing new songs, conceiving a new videoclip, and planning yet more live appearances on festivals as well as other gigs both at home and elsewhere.
