Raphaël Schwab and Julien Soro have been playing along since they were students at the National Conservatory in Paris.

Today both of them play a fundamental part in the Paris based Ping Machine, one of european most innovative large ensemble.
In this unique duo, they are looking for a simple musical conversation. They are both very natural players making use of their immense spontaneity. A true dialog is what they are actually aiming for. The mere compositions by Raphaël Schwab allow the art of wandering to happen: they drift away, they lose each other, and then catch up again.

Raphaël Schwab - Double Bass & composition
Raphaël graduated from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse in Paris with distinction in jazz. He is musician, performer, improviser and composer. Enthused by all musical genres, he is part of many different projects from jazz (PING MACHINE) to contemporary music (Ensemble LE BALCON), but also symphonic music and live spectacles.

Julien Soro - Alto Saxophone
After graduating with distinction from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de musique et de Danse in Paris he founded his quartet BIG FOUR (CHOC Jazz Magazine) in 2010. Besides he plays in the PING MACHINE (CHOC de l’année 2013 Jazz Magazine, Nominated for French Jazz Grammy's), directed by Frédéric Maurin, as a duo with percussionist François Kokelaere, in Pascal Charrier’s Kami Quintet and in the fazz fusion band LightBlazer.
