Scaredycats were formed at the beginning of 2015 around the songwriting dexterity of Jim Pearson. In just a few gigs, this four-piece band have established themselves as a formidable live act.
“Nothing timid about the Scaredycats’ inaugural gig last night - more like sabre-tooth tigers! They looked like a kaleidoscope of Dr. Who characters through the ages and transformed the Village Club in Thornton Hough into an auditory Tardis. Jim Pearson’s off the wall lyrics & talent-ridden tunes nailed in a tight-knit band, complete with moog synthesizer and bass player with perfect harmonies. We wear our badges with pride!” – Brian Larson (Vintage Radio)
Jim’s songwriting is starting to attract attention, selected three times this year for 6 Music’s Fresh Faves.
“Flexing his strong pop sensibilities here is the marvellous Jim Pearson. This will be Jim’s third Fresh Faves appearance after being featured in March 2015 and December 2014. He has a touch of Neil Hannon about his work – which is no mean feat in my book. “Falling Back Down To Earth” went down a treat with you, our readers, this week. It’s a gently rolling, sweet and melancholic ride through Jim’s vision of outer space – be it actual or merely the product of his active and beguiling imagination… ” – Johnno Casson (freshonthenet.co.uk/2015/08/faves163/)
Scaredycats have cherry-picked tunes from Jim’s five self produced albums, and given them a heavy dose of steroids… the result is a beguiling live set of songs performed with real verve and swing by consummate and entertaining musicians.
