Sami Kubu burst onto the Brighton underground scene in 2014, the last year has seen her play in small pubs to main stage at Coalition, support the likes of Josh Butler, play festivals like Brighton Pride and host her own radio show, as well as having a number of residencies.
Her musical story doesn't start here though, she first started DJing in 2011 when she was the promotions manager at NativeTongue in London. Starting with hip-hop and garage initially. It wasn't long until she discovered the sounds of tech house.
Though between 2011-2012 she focused on more band orientated productions, it was her move to Brighton in late 2012 that really re-sparked her love for house music. And so 2013 saw her get into the world of Traktor DJing and live remixing. Since then she has become a well known DJ on the underground scene and holds residencies at Coalition (Kitchen Pass/Lovebeat), The Hub (BeAvantgarde), WahKiki (Sundown), Codesouth.fm. As well as running her own nights and underground music promo company, Nightshift.
