The alternative band was brought together by songwriter and front woman Hayley Smith, her storytelling reflecting a fascination with social complexity and a habit of philosophical wrangling. Smith and co-singer Lou Barry’s vocals are a rich blend of glass and mahogany vocals, merging to form an ambient depth of sound. Emotive tribal beats, plucky hooks, and haunting synths, create a danceable and immersive throng of playful rhythms and textured sonics.
Propelled by the success of their self-entitled 2015 EP, they’re now releasing a string of individually crafted, self-produced singles throughout the summer. With multiple BBC plays, and a strong history of playing festivals, they are currently creating their own highly professional music videos, mastering true stagecraft and have released a postmodern remix of Crystalised, with London based electronica and techno artist Halina Rice.
