Reykjavik Kids Short Info

(In Deutsch unten auch...)

"Reykjavik Kids have developed a dark, intense, and post-punk infused take on indie songwriting." CLASH

Avant-garde indie duo, Reykjavik Kids are back to follow up their recent string of singles with ‘Nightmoist’, an epic slice of jittery post-punk.

Despite now being split across two continents (with guitarist/vocalist Scott Munro residing in Los Angeles and synth player/guitarist Paul Tissington in Newcastle, England) the pair show no signs of letting their creative partnership diminish. ‘Nightmoist’ shows off the best elements of their song writing, with tense rhythm, scything guitar lines and introspective lyrics about love and longing.

Inspired by everyone from Nirvana to Crystal Castles, the band Formed in Newcastle after a heavy session in 2014. Since then Reykjavik Kids have been creating the soundtrack to those kind of nights that are never forgotten, despite how much you may want to.

Their first demos found their way to boutique London based label Tigre Fair who released their debut eponymous single for Record Store Day 2015 on 12" vinyl and later singles have radio play from BBC Introducing North East.

"a frantic slice of agit-pop-punk with the energy of early Blur and the frantic frenetic nature of Hot Chip" LISTEN WITH MONGER

"the resulting compositions are both timeless and timely" SCRUFF OF THE NECK RECORDS

"what we love is the nostalgic memories we get from this band's music" ENTERTAINMENT FOCUS

"it demonstrates the duo's ability to write darkly intelligent guitar driven indie" TRACK OF THE DAY / THE VPME
