Fresh off a plane from New York, In March 2015 Session Vocalist Kris J Davis met with Music Graduate Robin Burberry and between them they conceptualised what would became Retro Youth, an autonomous and homegrown pop rock band with aspirations set high.

Drawing musical influences from both the old and the new, the duo (now a trio with the acquisition of drummer Alan Martin) set about recording tracks for their first EP Lips As Leaders. Well received, the band quickly grew to local notoriety and have been quietly building their international fanbase since.

Their anticipated forthcoming debut album Brave (Recorded with Lee Batiuk (Deaf Havana, The First) of Regal House Studios August 2015 - Due 2016) is an eclectic mix of style, passion and energy, written with an underlying rule and ethos, "We want people to want to dance to this.". Retro Youth stems from an ambition to stand starkly contrasting in their genre and to make music that pours in heart, soul and empathy in equal measures. Described as "Energetic, awe-inspiringly talented and likeable chaps" the band seek to carve out a name for themselves in a fickle and ever-changing musical climate.

“I’ve worked with musicians for over 15 years now and the guys from Retro Youth are one of the most motivated, hard working bands I’ve ever met. It’s always a pleasure collaborating with them because they know how to have a good laugh while having the drive to see this vision through properly … all just an added bonus to the great music that they’re producing."
