Resonant Blue is producer/DJ Jake Smith who has been creating and releasing electronic music for over 20 years.

He released the first ever US drum and bass album 'Homebrew' on Reflective Records in 1995 as Subtropic and has been producing a variety of electronic sounds ever since including music for galleries, film, radio and TV. He currently works with Brighton based label Lift Music producing music for a variety of media.

Resonant Blue is deep listening music - best described as new age music for people who dislike new age music and "harshly relaxing" (Turbulent Times). The current Resonant Blue project is a collaboration with singer Lucy Day of The Knights Project who provides folk vocals for immersive soundscapes, sculpted into accessible melodic songs providing a counterpoint to the noisier drone aspects of the music.

A Resonant Blue live set is a continuum of treated field recordings, deep drones, sonic vapour trails and beautiful songs, semi-improvised responding to the sound and vibe in the present.

Resonant Blue has played shows at Spirit of Gravity, Beep, Coachwerks and the De la Warr Pavilion.
