RAWSCHAC’s sound weaves a fabric rich with lo-fi threads and electro-modern techniques to create deep yet vibalisciously accessible songs about losing yourself and groovin’ hard.
Taking inspiration from beyond music via art, highs and culture, their show draws comparisons with The XX and The Weeknd; bejeweled with a vocal focus akin to the likes of Frank Ocean and locked in by Jhand's unique style of flow. Warm yet cutting guitar melodies and smooth, Jungle-shaded basslines drive the rest.
“An apt name for the Leeds-based quintet, the band display raw, contrasting vocals which immediately grab attention. Mixing grimy rap, guitar riffs and ethereal vocals just shouldn’t work, but somehow these guys pulled it off to a T. A blend of genres introducing soulful, heart-felt vocals into the mix, meant their live set was simply captivating, reminding me of The XX and The Weeknd, with a hint of MC Solaar, just you know, without the French.”,
- Megan Morgan, Exposed Magazine Sheffield (Tramlines 2015 review)
"The same energy and soul that would be expected from the headline act at a major festival - impressive instrumental performances and extremely gifted vocals combing hip hop with grunge and soul very impressively."
