Psyence Short Info

Psyence are an intense chemical reaction of face-melting riffs, spacious vocals and groove-based rhythms that have been locked away up north to slowly mature into a swaggering composition of blues rock and psychedelia. Effortlessly harking back to the ‘60s psychedelic rock wellspring and to an entirely original adolescent search for something beyond the tame ‘sponsored-alternative’ current music scene. With an incandescent live show to boot, these boys are extraordinarily apocalyptic and are just about ready to explode.

Already being lauded by the likes of The NME, Q Magazine, Clash, The Quietus and The Guardian, 2013 saw Psyence perform at the Liverpool International Festival of Psychedelia and be hailed as "the best live band" he'd seen in 10 years by The Charlatan's Martin Blunt.

2014 saw a riotous capacity show at Liverpool Sound City to coincide with the 'third-eye cleansing' elixir being unleashed with the release of new single 'Chemicals For Breakfast'; a five-minute wall of sound that takes more unexpected turns than a David Lynch film.

In 2015 Psyence were one of the only bands to be invited back to play Liverpool Sound City and landed themselves a spot at Shiiine on Festival supporting the likes of Happy Mondays, Inspiral Carpets and The Wonderstuff before locking themselves away to write and record their eagerly anticipated debut album.

Psyence found 2016 a building block year, already writing and recording their debut LP they gigged across the UK relentlessly to build their profile which included a return to the Shiiine on Festival this time supporting; Shed Seven, Echo and the Bunnymen and Cast, Psyence finished their year supporting Cast at a packed hometown show at Keele University.
