Precious Few are a German duo.

Their music is based on just acoustic guitars, melodica and vocals. The latter is being reminiscent to the likes of Nico, former “femme fatale” singer of the Velvet Underground’s first album, and to Polly Jean Harvey. Although they wear their British and American indie pop influences on their sleeves, Precious Few have still managed to carve out their own musical niche with their voice and instrument arrangements and unique sound. Their songs tell stories of everyday life, of family and friends, of places and objects. Kitchen-sink dramas for the 21st century!
After initially working together on a musical project with classical arrangements, Barbara and Chris decided to create a new band, Precious Few, in 2008. Live performances soon followed, with prestigious support slots for the likes of shoegazer pioneers Cranes as well as Suede’s frontman Brett Anderson, Maximo Park ́s singer Paul Smith and Chapel Club.
David Gedge, of the legendary indie pop group The Wedding Present, had personally invited the duo in 2010 to join him and his band on a European tour. In 2011 Precious Few played at David Gedge ́s festivals At The Edge Of The Sea in Brighton and At The Edge Of The Peaks in Holmfirth. In summer 2013 the band did their first UK tour and supported Martin Rossiter in London and Leeds. In 2014 Precious Few played some shows with Aoife O ́Donovan, Sophie Jamieson, The Slow Show and Pelle Carlberg and went on tour in Scotland.
In 2012 Precious Few started recording their debut album featuring Scotland ́s finest singer songwriter Steve Crawford and the fabulously talented Scottish harmonica player Spider MacKenzie. It was released on June 26th 2015.
Check out their debut album “Tales” and come and catch them live to enjoy the beauty of their sparse soundscapes!
