When entered the studio to record the first album in July 2013, the band Planalto Central has accounted 12 years of road.

During that time, the brazilian group performed many shows (in bars, festivals and events), met new friends, got more fans and could also go through changes, members exchange and even some time away from the stage. Above all, the band was gaining experience by creating music, strengthening the friendship between the members and improving their authorial identity, culminating in maturity to record 11 compositions that integrate Canções em Preto & Branco (Songs in Black & White), their debut album. The band Planalto Central is a trio of Deivinin Bertson on drums, Júlio Mautner on guitar and Márcio Gurgel on bass. Drummer and guitarist share the vocals and the authorship of the lyrics - that reflects experiences of everyday life, the troubles and joys. The band has a great inspiration from the rock of the 1970s, but the members are also tuned to other references, starting from Led Zeppelin and through Titãs, Paralamas do Sucesso, Engenheiros do Hawaii, Nirvana, Muse and Coldplay.

Canções em Preto & Branco is a collection of direct rocks, the weight is just right. To reach this result, Deivinin, Júlio and Márcio recorded the songs practically live in the studio, which required much trial and discipline so that each take was recorded without mistakes. The CD has several sides of the band, from the hard rock in O dia inteiro to the romantic ballad Thainá. The song Pereira, one of the favorites of the public, begins as a funk rock to end in a baião complemented by guitar. The 11 tracks on the disc are clear melodic graces of the compositions and the potential of radio songs with immediate choruses, which the audience gets to know during the show time and then go around singing along with the band.

The album featured the contribution of Marcos Farias (keyboards and accordion), Betinho Matus (guitar), Leo Barbosa (percussion) and Dillo Daraujo (guitar). To Planalto Central making music is more than the exercise of a gift, is to put into practice the need to express themselves and share with the people their messages, views and experiences. Thus, Canções em Preto & Branco is an efficient business card and, even more, an invitation to know the energy of the band live.

Canções em Preto & Branco was sponsored by the Culture Support Fund (FAC), the Secretary of Culture of the Federal District (Brasília/DF).
