This group of five from Ostrava started in 2010 and gradually worked their way up to the indie-rock present that can't deny either post-rock or shoegaze influences. After 3 EPs the band came up with the debut album Distant Edges (X Production, 2016) and single Goodbye to Me (Traveller) (2017), produced by Tomáš Neuwerth. Later singles Anxiety (2018) and Nobody Get Hurt (2019) are self-produced, and in 2021 they released their second album I Can't Let My Hands Fight Against Your Waterfall, recorded live in Tomáš Neuwerth's studio. Dreamy atmospheric landscapes with the urgent vocals of Eva Konečná remind us of British bands associated with the label 4AD. PLACES have performed at major Czech festivals (Colours of Ostrava, Metronome, Rock for People), supported Wolf Alice in Prague and played shows also in Austria and Hungary.
