Inspired by our parents collection of LP's ranging from Johnny Cash to Led Zep, Fleetwood Mac to Dr. Feelgood, as well as new artists such as Jake Bugg and The Strypes. Fronted by partners Jen Pickering (20) and guitarist/vocalist Matty White (25), we began playing covers in local pubs before writing our own material and adding various session players. We have since built a huge local following and a reputation as one of the most prominent acts in the Staffordshire area. Appearances on BBC Radio Stoke (with a live session that drew a huge amount of positive feedback) and then BBC Radio One (live session aired on Huw Stephens, Fearne Cotton and Annie Mac's shows) has reinforced our status as ones to watch.
A series of sold out local shows, gigs in Liverpool, Manchester, Sheffield, London and Birmingham and a professional video to blues-rocker 'Lady Blue Sky' drawing in 4,000+ views to date are a prequel to our highest quality and most professional release yet - 'You Always Want What You Can't Have' EP, accompanied by another high quality video (filmed by the amazing team at Born Videos Online). Reviews are calling it "our best work yet", "utterly exciting" and "destined to make a huge impact nationally". This video has drawn in 1,200 views in its 1st week.
We are due to receive further reviews for our new EP from huge country music mag Maverick Music Magazine and also from Blues Matters with potentially more to follow. We have also received interest from the US to use our material for sync licensing in film and TV.
With our recordings and live performances reaching an increasingly high professional standard, and with a constant flow of catchy, hook laden new material, there has never been a better time to become a fan of PickeringWhite
