Philip James Turner & The Crow Mandala is a Morecambe based four piece alternative country band that leans heavily on an indie soul crutch.

The Crows formed late 2014 as a vehicle for Turner to perform his material at a series of outdoor summer shows, primarily as a one off adventure. The reaction to these performances was so positive that it was obvious The Crow Mandala was immediately intrinsic to the songs.

Moving swiftly, a single was recorded and released digitally on iTunes, Spotify et al. Julie spins into the realm of Northern Soul; with it’s Motown beats and big piano it has quickly become a set favourite that commands crowd participation.

On the coat-tails of ‘Julie’ and new in Jan 2015 comes the debut EP ‘Some Day, Away’. The three track CD features The Kilcawley Family songbird Louiza Kilcawley on the lead track ‘Old Dog Country’. Available on limited run CD and digitally via the usual outlets.

At time of writing the band are working hard on an album whilst performing live around the north west.
