Four childhood friends from Ljubljana have created their own place where "things people don't like" happen, as the title of their debut album from 2016 suggests.
Porlock is a state of mind. It consists of contagiously intoxicating stoner riffs with extracts of late 60s and 70s rock, climactic dadrock cum moments and dreamy vocals. They call it schizophrenic pineapple pop, served up with hypnotic visuals and ironic self-deprecation in its live incarnation.
After successfully invading various alternative clubs all around the country and abroad, persons from porlock are starting to be considered as one of the main representatives of neo-psychedelic music in Slovenia.

Kevin Cole: "As a DJ, I’m always thinking about how I’m going to bust a new song I’m excited about– what I’m going to mix it with, and on first listen to Persons From Porlock’s “Bad Fanfiction,” with it’s energetic jangly guitar riffs, I knew it would be the Cure’s “Push.” A young band from Ljubljana, Slovenia, their debut album, Things People Don’t Like, was voted the #1 Slovenian album of 2016 by Radio Študent, one of Europe’s oldest and most respected non-commercial, alternative radio stations. “Bad Fanfiction,” a newer song, leans more alterna-rock guitar pop. Live, however, they were much more expansive, playing trippy neo psychedelic rock that only enhanced the surreal surroundings at Metelkova."

Their newest track ‘Bad Fanfiction’ is probably their best yet too…”
