Rising from the ashes of Henry Belcher’s (lead singer and guitarist) previous project, Persian Hugs Is the long overdue culmination of his creative endeavours.
Upon return to university, he sought the aid of Jacob Barrow (drummer) and James Weatherley-Buss (bassist and backing vocals) and quickly founded Persian Hugs. Since then, armed with the material from the summer prior they took to the Liverpool music scene cutting their teeth in venues at a rampant pace.
Musically drawing inspiration from the plethora of indie/alternative rock new and old Persian Hugs forge a sound that is aggressive yet also eloquent in delivery, refusing to lose sight of articulation at its most combative.
Working with producer Sam Winfield (Bring Me The Horizon, Supergrass, Amber Run) they crafted their debut single ‘Lipstick Mama’ in early 2018 released on the 27th April 2018 via Ditto. Then their second single 'Just A Little' in July 2018 followed by their debut EP 'Making Conversation' in October 2018. Which received playlisting on Ditto's 'New Music Mondays' playlist.
