People Poems is the solo project of singer-songwriter Harry Orme.

In 2013, having spent 3 years as part of Leeds' instrumental/improvised music scene whilst studying jazz at Leeds College of Music, Orme wanted to take what he'd learned from that aesthetic into the realm of stripped-back, acoustic songwriting. 'People Poems' was created as the title for this new body of work. Since then, People Poems has self-released two EPs, toured the UK and Europe, and expanded to include regular collaborators Francesca Haincourt (vocals), Matthew Aplin (piano) and Angus Milne (bass). They have shared bills with Sara Watkins, Big Thief, Adam Barnes and Emily Portman.

“Vocally, People Poems somewhat resemble a dream pairing of Antony Hegarty and Joanna Newsom... It's powerful, soul-bearing stuff, a rewarding listen and possessed of an uncommon and individual beauty.” -Brendan Campbell, North Leeds Life

"...this genuinely beautiful EP brings out the best in People Poems" -Jac Holloway, Noizze

"...the delightful vocal harmonies sending a shiver down one's spine" -Mike Price, Vibrations Magazine
