From humble beginnings in the sleepy town of Matlock, Patawawa’s brand of infectious Nu Disco is spreading far beyond their home county.
Groovy baselines, sparkly guitar licks and whimsical interplay between male and female vocals stand them apart. Uncompromising in their desire to make listeners get up and dance, Patawawa have entrenched themselves firmly in the French Disco scene with a number of collaborations underway, while their tracks appear in summertime playlists and mixtapes by producers the likes of Zimmer and Oliver Nelson.
Writing, recording and mastering their tracks in a tiny room underneath the staircase hasn’t stopped the band gaining a steadily growing fanbase from all corners of the world and recognition from local radio, BBC6, BBC Introducing and BBC R1.
With incredible support from the likes of Paul Lester, Dean Jackson and Tom Robinson, their music has graced The Guardian (BOTW), BBC Introducing, Fresh on the Net and Amazing Radio, as well as featured in various Hype Machine blogs.
