Their first single, No God Can Cage My Love, quickly gained attention to the duo upon its release through Lone Waltz Records in 2015. In early 2017, Papaver Cousins released their first live material, A Holy Night with Papaver Cousins, along with a concert film of the same title.

Their first album, Lack of Lightness, is a colorful journey into this lyrical world. Many songs showcase the two at their best in writing and performing plain acoustic songs that make rooms a little warmer each time they’re played, while others take confident steps in the direction of contemporary alternative folk with vivid instrumentation and intriguing straightforward honesty. According to Oliver, their first full-length is about how we try to save what we were fighting for. How we learn that what we’ve picked or taken can not be set back to where and how it used to be. How it doesn’t work with flowers nor with people.

With their latest LP, Bad Writing, which came out in May 2018, they transformed into a band and firmly stepped onto rock 'n' roll's windy, never-ending highway.
