Of The Valley - Singer/Songwriter Alternative Folk Live Act in Copenhagen

Of The Valley Short Info

Of The Valley is Canadian native and long-time Copenhagen resident Brian DellaValle.
Originally moving to Europe to pursue an education, Brian found himself in various musical constellations in Copenhagen- ultimately a part of many records including the solo work of alt-country legends Richmond Fontaine's bassist, Dave Harding. Of The Valley began to take shape in 2012 when Brian began performing his own material with local alt-country stalward Carl Coleman (Sink Ships, Palace Winter).

After living in Europe for the better part of 10 years, 2014 brought a changing of the guard. Successfully defending a PhD in neuroscience, he promptly dropped the day job and holed himself up in a small town in Northern Italy with an old typewriter and guitar. Though the of the material for the upcoming record was already written, he spent the next month slowing down and becoming a musician again. He returned to Copenhagen as spring was winding down- fresh and hungry to capture something special on tape with producer (and now manager) Peter Iversen.

The resulting record is largely the workings of his own hands- improvising with the song's core to bring his vision to life. The record is emotional and mysterious. His folk stylings are given a gentle treatment- forming organic soundscapes. DellaValle delivers the lyrical payload with a soothing baritone and a soaring falsetto casting the songs as personal and intimate, yet connecting to something more universal.

On the stage, DellaValle has performed across Europe and has supported touring musicians Bahamas, The Handsome Family, David Eugene Edwards (16 Horsepower, Wovenhand), Cass McCombs, Mark Eitzel, Jeffery Lewis, and Pete Molinari. Della Valle's live performance is intense and confident and he leaves everything on the stage.

'Ride Alone' is the first Of The Valley single.

“It's emotional, it's mystical and it's touching.”

“…The vocal of a singer/songwriter you have never heard before. It can be either an incredible pleasant surprise or a complete letdown. Every so often it REALLY grabs you from the first note. This is one of those songs for me…"
