The inclusion of the 8-string Brahms guitar of Alf Wilhelm Lundberg in 2010 added another dimension to the group's sound, and in 2014 another color palette came to the band's arsenal when bassist Kjetil Lundø got himself a Viola Da Gamba. Next cd for the group will be Suite for the seagulls with Gnu Quartet, and then the trio will focus on their next project, "Classical Music Reloaded" where they will improvise freely and creatively on everything from Bach, Chopin, Grieg and Satie. This trio has a somewhat special approach blending guitar and piano based compositions by multi-instrumentalist and composer Alf Wilhelm Lundberg. When the band recorded their debut cd "Norchestra" in Rainbow Studio in 2007 Jan Erik Kongshaug told them that the last time he saw anyone shifting so easy and effortless between piano and guitar was when he recorded Egberto Gismontis' recordings for ECM. The three band members all hail from Haugesund and they have played together and known eachother since 1996 and thus developed a near telepathic communication. Info about the tracks: The two first videos are from our new concept Classical Music Reloaded, and the third and fourth track are from our last cd "New Galaxy" but fits very well within our Classical Music Reloaded philosophy where we approach classical music with a lot of creativity and improvisation. The last two are unreleased and "secret" demo recordings from our favourite concert hall Tysværtunet just outside our hometown Haugesund, recorded in 2009. We are very interested in playing gigs abroad, and we will be presented at the Music Norway stand at Jazzahead 2016, hope to see some of you there!
