New Dutch Generation was formed shortly after four close friends finished highschool and went their own way.

They found music as a way to stay together and started the band as a experiment of mixing rock with electronic music. In 2012 their current bass player (Felix) joined the party and completed the line-up. After two years of writing a lot of music they found a steady sound that fit their identity like a catsuit. With five members with different musical taste, they managed to present a solid and steady sound, though influences vary from jazz to electronic and from psychedelic to pop. Those years of writing resulted in their debut-album Metempsychosis, which was funded by a crowdfunding. The album was released May 15th 2015.

metempsychosis [muh-tem-suh-koh-seez, -temp-, met-uh m-sahy]
1. the transmigration of the soul, especially the passage of the soul after death from a human or animal to some other human or animal body.

In this case Metempsychosis is metaphorical for the transformation of being a group of close friends in high school trying to make music, to a close knit band making music straight from the heart. Regardless of the several personal influences the band managed to find a way to bundle all of that in a modern and sincere sound. After a few years of hard work, songwriting, and discovering their true musical direction on stage, as well as in the rehearsal space, Metempsychosis is the first delivery of their ambitions.

In the early summer of 2015 New Dutch Generation did a small release tour in The Netherlands, before traveling south to Andalusia, Spain. Since they felt their inspiration didn't fade, they stepped out of the busy world for a few weeks to concentrate fully on writing, bringing that inspiration to life. Surrounded by nothing but mountains and nature, they started working on new songs in the exotic studio of Jan Peijnenburg (Doe Maar). Back in Holland the band stepped back on stage and is now busy finishing those written songs, with the plan to record a second album in 2016.
