In the late 2011 Jones, previously JMono, formerly known as the bassist of ALEXA – a rather famous Indonesian band, collected his courage to record and compile numerous original materials into a mini album titled “A Very Long Weekend”.

The mini album was entirely presented by himself, where he
played and recorded all the instruments, sang to all the songs and further acted as the producer to the
production. “Tidur” met a very long stay on various radio charts through free downloading and modest
social media publication. The mini album then came to a good success as it reached at least half a
million downloads, to which Jones received great enthusiasm as a singer and multi-instrumentalist from
both the public and other musicians.
In October 2011 Jones marked another success through his YouTube series titled
#PEMUDAINDONESIA, through which he expressed his point of views on the Indonesian “Sumpah
Pemuda” [Indonesian Youth Pledge], where he projected a documentation on his version of a
somewhat more modern youth act in relation to the pledge. Through #PEMUDAINDONESIA Jones also
published two songs from “A Very Long Weekend” upon the documented performance of a fictious band
that involved other known musicians; all in all the highlight was Jones’ involvement as a natural
frontman to the whole action. One could actually understand that this would be the proper beginning of
Neurotic; however, Jones could not begin Neurotic due to his then obligation as the bassist of ALEXA,
the band that he actually formed in 2007.
In October 2012 ALEXA officially dismissed Jones from his position as the bassist; however, due to his
great willingness to still live upon creativity, Jones started a band and became the frontman of what later
became Neurotic. With the material from “A Very Long Weekend” plus some cover versions of Jones’
favourite tunes Neurotic began to perform in front of a live audience in the end of 2012 to the early
2013.
In 2013 Jones invited his friends to join Neurotic to mention guitarists Satriyo and Adityar Andra, bassist
Byano and drummer Eno Gitara. In March 2013 Jones began preparing Neurotic’s first album with Widi
Puradiredja, the drummer of Maliq and D’essentials, and Hendra Dels, the brain behind Rock N Roll
Mafia. The need to produce a grand first album was Jones’ main reason in having selected the duo as
the producers. The making process of the first album titled “Weird” was often posted on Twitter in
either tweets, photos and videos; the act triggered music enthusiasts to stand in curiousity. The postings
also presented the slogan “Let’s Get Weird” that further interested people.
Honesty and pure freshness, plus Neurotic’s urban lifestyle, will bring Indonesian music to a new
ground.
