“I was tired of going to gigs and watching bands thinking that I could do it better” laughs lead singer Andy Thomas who initially formed the band at the end of 2014 along with bassist Phil Clark and drummer Finn Mclean.

The band’s first tracks were born out of a dingy rehearsal studio deep in an industrial estate and the band began to stray from their early pop roots to embrace a darker, grittier core. Whilst ensuring that songwriting was always kept at the forefront and playing any gigs possible, the band’s strong DIY ethic caught the attention of Dean Jackson (BBC Introducing East Midlands) and earned them regular airplay on BBC local radios all over the country.

Two sold out support shows followed with Canadian rock band Arkells in Manchester and London leading to their track 'Do You Feel at Home' receiving its first play on Radio 1.

With the addition of Lee Hamilton-Cooper on guitar at the start of the year, the band has worked tirelessly to push their own musical boundaries live, and in the studio. After self recording and producing their upcoming EP in a bedroom whilst refining their energetic live offering, Mowbeck are determined to reach the ears of as many people as possible. The band’s next single ‘Talkabout’ was featured on Radio X as their Shock Of The New - giving a taste of what was to come on the EP.

Following the release of their latest EP, the band were chosen by the BBC Introducing team to play at Reading & Leeds festival and were featured on SupaJam’s “6 Fresh Acts You Need To See At Reading & Leeds” blog.
