Mixophrygian is a music/arts project by icelander Daði Freyr.

It started early 2014 and one EP is out.
Mixophrygian plays synthpop with a live setup consisting of analog synths, keyboards, midi controlers and vocals.
Full length debut album out now.

A great mix of sounds and composition layered by a perfectly fitting male vocal, right on top, like the cherry to your ice cream cone on this hot summer, NYC day.
(Cyrus Pavel - Indie Shuffle)

"What Mixophrygian is about is one Mr. Daði Freyr Pétursson, a synth-pop producer from Iceland putting out a solo release. And to quote Barry in High Fidelity, “It’s really… it’s really fucking good.”"
(Life In The Vinyl Lane)

"We’ve seen some intriguing acts appear from Iceland as of late, but none that are quite as enigmatic as Mixophrygian."
(Chad Hillard - hillydilly.com)

Mixophrygian showcases a lush and relatively funky sound guided by his deeply sonorous vocals and impressively sleek production. Treading in a similarly nocturnal and ice-cold electro-pop realm as the likes of Sally Shapiro, Junior Boys, Benji Hughes, and James Blake.
(Mike Mineo - Obscure Sound)

The Icelandic solo artist Mixophrygian makes the sort of music that brings you out of yourself. They boast dreamy vocals that layer over the smooth electro synth production. It’ll give you goosebumps.
