Midnight Road is a group of twenty-something wanting to stake their claim in the rough and tumble world of rock 'n' roll.

They represent a new generation of youngsters who do not only have an insightful appreciation of rock music, but also the desire to keep it alive. This quintet hailing from Bilbao will make you feel the essence of rock and roll to the marrow of your bones.

In November 2009, they released their first full CD, Thin Lines, in which they have rendered some monster tracks. The songs are catchy and well written and the musicianship is top shelf. Today, Midnight Road captures the essence of rock and roll. Guitar player Sergio Puertas' lead work is reminiscent of a certain top hat wearing rock star. Jon Martinez’ vocals are a nice fit to the rough-edged hard rock music that the rhythm section of Sergio Sanz (drums), Iñigo (rhythm guitar) and Jose (bassist) lay down.

At some point, someone must have seen the band’s energetic and enthusiastic live performance, listened to their CD --great back up sample of their music at the studio--, and decided to ask Midnight Road to tour in the US in August 2010. In effect, the challenge was there and five gigs in ten days were enough for Midnight Road to show their high caliber as a band. The audiences of Grand Rapids, Indianapolis, Chicago, University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign and Madison rocked out like maniacs to the trepidant rhythm of the band's live repertoire. One hundred CDs sold, donations to the band, the house sound technicians nominating Midnight Road as one of the best bands that have played at that venue recently, and most importantly, the invitation to come back and play there any time speak for themselves in regard to the success of Midnight Road's Summer 2010 US Tour.

After the US experience, the band set different goals for live performances and in July 2011, they were the opening band for the SLASH concert in Bilbao. A week of accolades followed up after that show. Mission accomplished! Presently, the band is planning the 2011-2012 season with renewed energies and the self-confidence that international recognition can give bands to get on stage and make their audiences feel like they are a crucial part of the band's performance. If rock fans claim that rock music is about a good time, definitely Midnight Road is the kind of band that makes rock be so. Hey Midnight Road, see you at your next gig!
