METHENY FLAMENCO: A Tribute to Pat Metheny | Album | 2016 |

An unprecedented proposal that will surprise critics and audiences.
Album finished, will be edited in the beginning of 2016 under Warner Music License.
"I love it...I´m so honored for them to take this music to such an incredible place"
Pat Metheny.
Santiago talks about the project:
“…For some time now, I have wanted to undertake a more in-depth study of Jazz. At last I have found the motivation, need and courage to do it.
It is about this time that I come upon the music of Pat Metheny. Although I have been listening to this great artist for years, it is only now, having got into his way of thinking, that I am truly understanding and enjoying his work.
That is what lies at the root of this project. A project produced by a flamenco artist, but purely about jazz.
I feel that Pat Metheny has long been deserving of homage by flamenco guitarists. Without knowing it, he has had a transcendental influence on the new generation of flamenco guitarists, me included.
While some flamenco artists have already dedicated works to him, nobody has yet tried to produce a new version of his work, in the context of flamenco guitar. That is what this project involves.
I selected the works that I felt were most apt to this task and I am taking them over to flamenco guitar as best I can. The challenge I face is as complicated for me as it is stimulating and productive.
As I said to Pat Metheny when he invited me to know this projet personally, it remains for me to make record that I am doing this for love of music and with all the respect that this great artist deserves.”
