This Berlin based band is a new artistic product of double bass player and composer Meinrad Kneer.

His compositions are played by a fine group of jazz musicians and improvisers.
Most of the repertoire has been written exclusively for this combination of players and some pieces have been adapted and re-arranged for them.
Kneer's music, influenced by numerous musical styles as jazz, improv, ethnic music, new music and rock, feeds these experienced players to discover new grounds of unexpected interplay and powerful improvisations.
On the 15th of october 2015, their first CD has been released by the renown German label JazzHausMUsik in Cologne.

Review by Martin Laurentius in Jazzthing, nov 2015:

The geographic center of the Meinrad Kneer quintet is Berlin. However, the lively capital scene is certainly not the reason for the stylistic complexity, as it becomes evident on the album "Oneirology". Already the compositional layout of many pieces by the bassist combines rock, jazz and contemporary music into an energetic maelstrom, in which the single ingredients remain audible, but constantly change their shape through the anticipatory interaction of those five musicians and their creative art of improvisation: iridescent, powerful, animalistic .
