Based in Wakefield and inspired by the likes of; Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Leonard Cohen, Lloyd Cole, Mark Kozelek, Jason Molina, sad sappy country songs and dreamy atmosphere; Max makes songs of life, death, time and failure.

Having trained as a screenwriter and sound designer he found the medium of songwriting to be the only true catharsis.

His songs are stories; of characters and their struggles; vignettes that paint a portrait. They are often tales of life and death; time, solitude, depression; the afterlife and the universe (all the small things) - there aren’t many love songs in his catalogue.

Going into 2017 Max is working on his debut album and has picked up an electric guitar once again to create a live show that is also a journey.

Max's new material is a blend of acoustic folk & country with the dreamy, fuzzed-out atmospheres of dream-pop, slowcore and ambient music. After performing at intimate indoor spaces in addition to transcendent sets at Beverley Folk Festival and Ilkley Literature Festival Max is working to bring his "Road Movie" live show around the country in 2017
