It's like stepping into MaVe's head, getting a close look on her way of processing emotions. MaVe's universe allows complete honesty about everything even the things most people never say out loud.
BIO:
Artist and songwriter MaVe, alias Marita Vestad, originating from the small village of Ringebu, Norway, lived four years in the UK to study music at LIPA in Liverpool and is now based in Oslo, writing songs after midnight. Her music consists of heavy bass, raw and honest lyrics with attitude and a powerful, unique vocal. MaVe’s distinctive sound combines elements from trap, ambient electronica and trip hop and with a background in rock music she stands out in the electronica scene.
MaVe has previously released multiple singles and music videos, which has led to gigs and support slots both in the UK and Norway. The list includes acts such as BIGBANG(NO), AMBER RUN(UK), FRØDER(NO), MARIANN ROSA(NO), as well as the French electronica artist OWLLE in a sold out Sebright Arms in London.
As a live artist MaVe is described as ”assertive and fearless”, with an uncompromising live show, authentic stage presence and a wide range of emotions.
In February 2016 she released her debut EP "Overload" with a following Norway/UK tour with shows at O2 Academy Islington (London), Threshold Festival (Liverpool), Tromsa Live (NO), NRK Innlandscenen og Rondaståk (NO).
In September 2017 MaVe released her single ”Bombs” (produced by Are Næsset) in collaboration with indielabel R:E Records. “Bombs” made it into the playlist for the documantary series ”Jævla Homo” on NRK(Norwegian BBC) and was recommended by both Norwegian radio channel for unsigned artist: Urørt and NPS music, A-listed by RadioNova, played on radio P3 and P1.
In November 2018 MaVe released her EP ”Trilogy”, consisting of three songs and three complimentary music videos taking you on a trip through the perception of anxiety, bitterness and heartbreak.
Her latest track "Woman Balls" can also be heard in the NRK series "Lovleg" season 2.
