Both named Mateusz, they provide some of the freshest beats along with impressive songwriting skills. They’re also a multimedia project: one of them (Holak) provides graphics for the band, while the other one (Gudel) does animations for music videos. Of course they’ve met in art school but that’s the only cliche about them you might find.
The project has already performed on most major festivals in Poland, including Open’er Festival, Tauron Nowa Muzyka, Off Festival, Spring Break, as well as Hip-Hop Kemp (CZ). Małe Miasta were also one of the few local bands that got invited to do a live session for KEXP radio station. They're also opened for artists such as Kelis, Mykki Blanco or Mick Jenkins.
Their 2014 debut album ‘MM’ was released by Alkopoligamia and got entirely sold-out. It was also notable for guest appearences from some of the top Polish rappers (Ten Typ Mes, W.E.N.A., ABEL), as well as Klaudia Szafrańska from the electronic duo XXANAXX. Their sophomore album ‘KOŃ’ (#13 PL) premiered roughly 10 months later and once again featured many recognized artists like jazz bassist Wojtek Mazolewski or highly acclaimed rapper Taco Hemingway.
