From September 2011, Luca and Andrea, both members of a rock group, made this expression a way of life, a sort of musical philosophy that applies to many more genres than just Alt-Folk.

They offer the music scene the pure, simple sound of two guitars together with the harmony of two voices. Everything is held together with the regular rhythm of a speed train, a bass drum continuously generating their songs. The music transports us to the locations and atmospheres found in Baz Luhrmann’s film Australia, which inspired the duo.

Between 2012 and 2013, the duo performed at major concerts all over the country, winning first prize at Palco ai Giovani 2013 and first prize at Ticino’s talent show, show time.

In September 2013, the duo presented their first album, “Make it plain”.

Thanks to the support of friends and the website wemakeit.ch, Luca and Andrea, in late April 2014, take to the road for a short time in Ireland where they busker and gig (Sleepzone Hostel, Galway), then fly down to London to perform in the historic “Troubadour Club” – an important venue which has seen the likes of Dylan, Hendrix and Paul Simon, to name few.”

After a long online poll with 250 bands, they were selected to play at the Waldbühne stage at the prestigious Gurten Festival in March 2014, along with seven other Swiss bands. Once again, they won first prize and done themselves proud.

On the 11th July 2014, the duo presented their single Mysterious Girl and their video, which was filmed in the Irish countryside in Galway, Dublin and Connemara.

During 2014 and 2015 the two played various venues, including opening for Goran Bregovic in Castel Grande in Bellinzona.

On the 1st July 2015, they premiered their video for “Stand By Me”, a reinterpretation of Ben E. King’s famous track.

At the end of 2015, they released the song “Let Me” to be considered for the Eurovision Song Contest 2016. This song anticipates the sound of the new album “Side Street”, presented in one of Rete Tre’s radio showcases in Lugano-Besso and at the Plaza di Mendrisio cinema a few weeks after they released their new videoclip for the single “The Run”.

The album “Side Street” was created with professional musicians who have accompanied the duo during their 2016 live shows. The need to include other acoustic instrumentation came from the aim of boosting the wall of sound during their bigger live shows.

The new project is made unique by the use of instruments made with Ticino and Swiss granite. Electric guitars and basses were developed by Guitar of Stone, a start-up in Losone (CH).

Luca and Andrea, never forgetting their roots and experience in Ticino feel it’s time to pick up their guitars, travel across borders and mountains to promote their music also in the other parts of Switzerland and why not, the world …
