M.A BEAT! are the electro-acoustic trio formed by the young producer Samy Abboud, who have been releasing forward-thinking music for 3 years.

Inspired by the English electronic artists like Caribou, James Holden and Boards of Canada, M.A BEAT! bring an organic live band approach mixing jazz, world and electronic music.

After the EPs Arbor, Pushing Forms and Age of Wander, M.A BEAT! crafted their unique and rich sound, that the album Drowning For Love, released in May 2015, embodied. French radio station Nova once described their music in these words « drums dancing in your head. Smart music without being nerdy, at the crossroad of Tortoise and Fakear, real beauty ». The band collaborated with the legendary multi-instrumentist Shawn Lee, playing Polynesian ukulele on the song Morocco. Shawn Lee came in Paris to play 2 gigs in a big-band set up with 2 drums and additional musicians, especially the night organised by the mighty radio presenter RKK called “Le Lundi, c’est Rémy”.

On stage, Samy Abboud plays the MPC, Louis Treffel plays the bass and keyboards, Adrien Legay is on the drums. They toured Japan in August 2015 for 15 dates and they opened in festivals and venues for the likes of Rone, Fakear and Jurassic 5 in 2015.

M.A BEAT! are set to release a new EP for Spring 2016 on the UK-based label Headcount Records and on Black Milk Music. They will play their first dates in London, Glasgow and Manchester in February 2016.
