LOCKS are a self-coined 'skeletal-blues' four-piece based in North London.

It is the name they are giving to their sound- rhythmic guitars, percussive playing of stringed instruments and experimental drum sounds.

After playing with a variety of different bands including rockabilly, traditional Irish, indie and nu-folk, these misfits found themselves in a rehearsal room together writing parts for murder ballads involving burying bodies, serial killers, lynch mobs, horror stories that see gin drinkers rubbing shoulders with the damned and voodoo witches

Their debut EP Rattle Them Bones (featuring Wishbone & The Gin Song) was championed by Steve Lamacq and also received positive responses from Tom Robinson & Gary Crowley and lead to them being chosen to open the BBC Introducing stage at The Great Escape 2017. The Gin Song was also one of Steve Lamacq’s ‘Best of the year so far (2017).

SKIN is the first single off of the forthcoming album - "Skeletal Blues" due to be released under Zen Ten Records in the Spring of 2018 and has already gained more support from Radio X, BBC6 Music’s Steve Lamaqc once again and has become one of his Livener tracks, Shaun Keaveny, Chris Hawkins and local radio including The Irish Jam & Wandsworth Radio. It has also been added to the BBC 6 Spotify playlist. This follows in the footsteps of their EP "Rattle Them Bones" which received critical acclaim and garnered extensive radio play on BBC wave lengths.

‘Like Nick Cave meets Tom Waits in a smoky after-hours whiskey bar’ – Chris Hawkins BBC 6 Music

‘Mesmerising quality’ – Steve Lamacq BBC 6 Music

'Akin to the cinematic ghostliness of Nick Cave and Kate Bush, the trio masterfully weave eerie alt-folk with suspenseful blues rock, which they call skeletal blues.'- Ben Yung, The Revue

‘Skin bestride[s] dark and light impressively’ Elia Rulli, Fresh on the Net

‘If anything, LOCKS have become even more morose in SKIN with bells appearing as though chiming across a cemetery at a funeral’ – Emerging Indie Bands

‘[Wishbone is] another complete banger’ – Tom Robinson BBC 6 Music Introducing

'Wishbone' is a strikingly good song. The trio mix natural heartfelt vocals with a distinct and catchy guitar lead soundtrack/ I really am left wanting to hear more (actually a lot more).' - Beehive Candy
