Formed in 2014, Lional are an Indie Noir band from Inverness, Scotland whose sound draws influence from the melancholic aspect of post-punk bands The Smiths and Joy Division (though the group is often compared to more modern acts such as Interpol, Arctic Monkeys and Franz Ferdinand).

The quartet's debut EP My Design received critical acclaim from across the nation, garnering airplay from the likes of the BBC and XFM. Lional recently released new single "Season of Salt" before going on to be featured across a host of "end of year" lists as one of the most exciting new Scottish acts of 2015.

"Season of Salt" has continued to receive strong media support and the four-piece was recently included in BBC tastemaker Vic Galloway's "25 Bands to Watch in 2016" and Jim Gellatly's "10 Picks for 2016" in The Sun. Lional also saw no less than a trio of their songs in the Top 20 of The Herald's "Top 100 Scottish Songs of 2015." Having built a formidable reputation across the UK's festival circuit for their charged live outings, 2016 looks set to be a breakthrough year for one of Scotland's most promising new acts, with The Scottish Sun proclaiming, "Blistering indie rock songs and great stage presence - they ARE destined for big things."
