A weave of folky, ambient refrains, with varied vocal colours. Undercurrents of a folk rock feel, touched with nylon strung guitars, dynamic movements. A bardic, genteel, dream-weaving, haunting shade; optimistic, nature-mystical, major key songs, uplifting and flowing - catchy stuff! Music centred on Pagan, sabbat-round themes, synesthesia, human potential, the poet's interaction with the land, the depths of the self and the internal landscape. Leafblade dance with the joy of the blood; lyricism focusing on stillness, silencing the internal vocabulary, oneness with the self and all that radiates beyond the senses. The poet as occultist: Yeats, Blake,Walter de la Mare, Angela Carter, Robert Holdstock; songs of the visionary: woven courtly romance in shades of the medieval, shamanic creativity, season songs, moon poems, Renaissance dances, sacred geometry, songs of the poets of Venus! Progressive, unique, picturesque, impressionistic, and very, very honest, open, and straight from the depths of the creative heart and mind.
Leafblade have played numerous countries and UK festivals focusing on pagan, medieval and viking themes, and on occasion, crank things up! We have enjoyed a lot of live radio play gigs and revel in our diversity, and have recently had their music featured in several documentaries and short films, as well as having their music covered, which has been an honour.
Best wishes, from all at Leafblade.
