After meeting with cellist Natasha the match was lit that would later light the fire for establishing Lapwings' unique organic sound. With the addition of Klari (Germany), Marco (Italy) and JB (France), Lapwings is now a 5-piece indie rock band from Berlin with musicians stemming from different walks of life, whose name derives from the folkloric bird of ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs representing newcomers to a foreign land.
“La Ligne d’en Bas” (“The Bottom Line”) is the last single of Lapwings (May 2017), a political song in French about the line we crossed a long time ago. It is the line we might cross by following the hatred peddled by populism and alternative facts. The animated music video of La Ligne d'en Bas got more than 45000 views in a couple of weeks on Facebook .
With his new band setup, Lapwings leaves the pop folk of their first EP behind them and call to revolution and rebellion, with a powerful rock song and a dark atmosphere. For their second EP, they worked with producer Enda Gallery and recorded in a Berlin studio (who previously welcomed Nick Cave and Korn).
